Position Overview

The financial analyst will assist with the monthly financial reporting and variance analysis. They will help build excel models to support understanding of the business. They will be involved in the month end close process and support with the P&L/Balance Sheet reporting and analytics. They will support some daily / weekly monthly transaction processing and reporting. They will get exposure to multiple parts of the business and work cross functionally with other departments. The financial analyst will also help with prework for budgets, forecasts and the yearend audits. We are a small finance team and provide cross-training to ensure sufficient backup resources.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Build models (in Excel) to support analytics.
  • Support monthly departmental reporting.
  • Support month-end close process.
  • Support preparation of monthly management reporting package
  • Process customer remittances – for one customer (approx. 2-5 per day)
  • Support yearend audit and annual budget / periodic reforecast processes.
  • Provide other ad hoc support, participate in ad hoc projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Accounting / Finance / Economics degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Team Player – small team requires strong communication & interaction
  • Loves to learn
  • Learn established processes and challenge / continuously improve
  • Process and detail oriented
  • Role includes some accounting, financial analysis, reporting and special projects
  • Interest in learning ERP system and reporting systems
  • Strong excel skills or strong interest in developing excel skills
  • Flexible to act as back up/coverage to other team members are required (training will be provided)
